How Do We Find Balance?

My husband and I were talking this morning. I was telling him how much I’ve been struggling with balance lately. It seems that no matter what I do, the scale is tipping too far one way or the other. I went on an on about how my new obsession with yoga and blogging has left me neglecting him and the kids. His expertise on the subject was surprisingly helpful. He said and I quote, ” Kim, all your life you did gymnastics. You stood on a structure 4 feet high and 4 inches wide, you know how to balance. Your past prepared you for this moment. Me, I’m a swimmer and I’ve skimmed the surface trying to catch a breath while drowning and trying to stay on top of what’s beneath me.” What could I possibly say to that? ” Maybe I should swim for a while and you should try yoga.”
