Don’t be mad at the situation, be mad at your expectations.
I read this line somewhere today and it jumped off the page and poked me in the arm. It’s very consistent with many of my posts this weekend and this lesson wanted to kick me in the backside one more time to make sure I don’t forget. I thought it was worth sharing so here it is one more time.

I hear you! The challenge is not to get excited for things that does get your hopes up. Take my internship for instance, first real job experience, renown organisation (I’m at the European Space Agency), so of course I was expecting a lot from it. Turns out my teacher was right, it’s hard to be taken seriously and given responsibility as an intern. Even with my teacher’s recommendation in mind, I still went in with my hopes as high as it could get…
