When you miss the boat, do you take the train? There are so many ways to get to where you want to be in life but only if you are serious about finding your way. The problem is, we get this idea of the way we want our lives to be but the second our plan comes to a dead end, that’s it, game over. We give up just like that because we can’t see beyond the end of the trail. We forget we can take a bus, a taxi, a train, rent a car. Where there’s a will, there’s always a way. If one plan fails, find another. Sometimes it’s as simple as that.
I don’t believe in the word can’t… And certainly don’t understand those people that give up when there are so many alternatives to reach the goal.

I love to sit and brainstorm with my kids all the possible ways they can solve a problem or work through a situation. Then discussing which way they think is best. The great thing is that they have that list to go back to if the first way doesn’t work and re-evaluating the goal.

I love that idea! You are a genius starting kids to practice that at an early age. I may just have to start doing the same. Thanks for sharing!

True. People don’t try enough to get what they want. They just give up when plan A doesn’t work. Awesome post BTW!

Thanks for the feedback. I believe that also. They are just a few more steps away from reaching their goal. Is it laziness? Lack of confidence? Lack of desire? I guess it’s different for everyone 😉

I know right. Laziness differs from person to person. That’s why some people conquer the world, whereas most don’t.

From day 1, we’ve told our daughter to keep trying, and she turned out to be such a great influence on us. She doesn’t give up and together we find new ways of doing many things to help her achieve her potential and help us become much better parents and overall human being. Sometimes a road block just takes you on a much nicer road, you just need to open your mind to the possibilities and find a new way.

So true. What a wonderful trait to instill in your daughter and now she re-gifts it back to you. That’s great parenting 😉
