Settling In

Standard

I finally woke up with a new attitude. I admit, I have been listening to Wayne Dyers Divine Love. I think slowly but surely, I am settling in to the fine area between what I can control and what I can’t. Life is so unpredictable. It is unbelievable how our own life can change from one moment to the next. You go to bed at night as one person and wake up the next day as someone different. I’ve really been focused on allowing myself to flow and settle in to whatever is. No matter how hard I try and change something or how much I overthink it, I have to find peace in that uncomfortable place. It is my yoga instructor who described it beautifully today. She said you need to stop concentrating on the problem and settle in. So that is where I am today. Settling in and keeping myself grounded while I wait to see what comes out of this unexpected event. No matter how much you try and expect the unexpected, you’re never really ready for it when it hits.

You have a wise yoga instructor! You cannot control life. You just have to let go of the reins and let it take you where it will. You can only hope to steer it gently in the direction that you’d like it to go. Never try to force it. That’s when it will inevitably take a turn in the wrong direction…. πŸ’–

    • Yes exactly. I got news my mother is in the hospital and I thought my heart would explode. I went to yoga because I felt like I was gonna have a panic attack and I was so fortunate I got exactly what I needed to hear there. I hate living so far away from family 😦

Oh honey I’m so sooooo very sorry. I hope that she’s going to be okay! I know the stress of being far from family. My mom just went through a bad bout of pneumonia and she’s had a kidney transplant. It could’ve killed her. I couldn’t even be with her because I was out at the Mayo clinic myself… it’s a true struggle. I feel your pain.

  2. I can empathize. Going through some major changes all at once right now. Hard to center yourself in those times. Takes work and repetition…or the ability to say “it is what it is”. The Serenity Prayer is very applicable in these situations.
