People have feelings. We are all people. Why is it so hard to be gentle with our words? Why can’t we try and understand what someone is trying to explain to us? Is empathy something you are either born with or not? How can some people be so cold while others are so amazingly compassionate and kind. To the kind, compassionate ones, I applaud you and say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly appreciate each and everyone of you.
Words can be weapons. It is so important to use them in a kind way.

…Is empathy something you are either born with or not? …
I’ve never before given a thought to this interesting question. My first reaction was: yes, it is. On second thoughts, I still find it true. I think that my wish to fully understand another person should come from the bottom of my heart, and I’m not sure if I’m sincere when I have to conciously overcome my “lack” of empathy in certain cases.

I have 2 entirely different kids. One is caring and empathetic by nature and the other one not so much. Same parents, same example. It fascinates me how different people can be.

Just read a few of your blog posts and I’d say you put all of these qualities in them. I just love how calm they all sound (does that make sense?).

Harsh words sometimes–if not always–come from stones that just haven’t been polished enough. Those who are always polite or sensitive to the needs/wants of others are more like sponges than rocks. But, we are/were all rocks, once.

Too bad everyone wasn’t always polite. Let’s not point a finger at people who are but rather encourage people who aren’t to speak to someone respectively and kindly. Why blame the victim?
