We are more than the sum of our parts. Isn’t that how the saying goes? I was thinking a little while ago how sometimes I get caught up being focused on the wrong parts. Sometimes there is one in particular that sticks out more than all the others. I’m stuck on that ONE today. Sometimes I see it in myself and other days I see it in someone else. I think to myself, if you could just fix that one part….that one part that’s like a flat tire holding you back and preventing the other parts from working cooperatively together. Yes, we are more than our flaws but we also have to be honest about the parts of us that are broken if we ever have a chance of moving forward. We have to acknowledge how each and every part affects our whole and we have to find a way to be the best version of ourselves. Sometimes it’s necessary to break it down. Other days it’s imperative to look past the flaws and thank God for the whole.
