What Are You Grateful For Right Now?


Let’s face it, I’m not so sure people have been feeling very thankful lately. Sometimes our ability to feel gratitude is dependent on how well things are going for us at a particular time. The truth is, the times you are feeling your worst are the times you need to reach out and find at least something everyday you can be thankful for. Today, I am grateful for the blogging community. The way we respect one another’s views while at the same time challenging one another to think about something differently makes the world a better place. Thank you for the loving, inclusive group that you are. My heart is full. What are you grateful for today? 

A Note of Gratitude


I spent many years feeling lost and unsupported. People are hard these days and that “suck it up” attitude runs pretty strong. These last few years though, I have found an amazing mountain of support and encouragement from my blogging family. Not only are you kind enough to listen and empathize but you also offer solutions and try and help. I hope you know the difference your sweet words make in my life. Just the fact that you even take a few minutes of your own precious time to make a difference in mine, makes me feel very blessed. Thank you to each and every one of you who has ever brightened my day, straightened me out or offered hope and choices I wasn’t even aware existed. My plate is so full and I am grateful. Thank you.


Happy New Year


I read a post recently. I can’t remember exactly when or who it was by but the theme really touched me in a way I hadn’t expected. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, every year I choose a word to set an intention for the next 365 days. I wanted to pick something special and profound that would affect me in every way. This post revolved around the word soften. Soften, yes, that’s my word. This year I hope to soften my voice to show more respect, love and compassion. I hope to soften my heart to understand, forgive and love to my full potential. I hope to soften my shoulders, to let go of stress and anxiety and to revel in calm that comes more naturally and continuously. I hope to soften my face, my expressions, my eyes so that I can look at everyone more lovingly instead of with exasperation. I hope to soften my mind and my thoughts to replace the worried, anxious ones with reassuring, confident ones. I hope to soften my expectations of everyone around me including myself. Soften, yes that is the one. May my journey to soften contribute to softening the world a little more every day. 

Happy New Year to so many of you who have offered me support, comfort, and peace of mind when I’ve needed it most. May this new year bring you peace and happiness and the awareness to know the difference each and everyone of you make. Let’s make 2016 our best year yet!

Favorite Christmas Tradition


I love to read all the posts for the 12 Days of Christmes blogging challenge so I thought I’d join in.  

For as long as I can remember, we have always gone to church on Christmas Eve. After mass, we gather at my sisters house for a beautiful sit down dinner followed by amazing desserts. We all gather in the living room patiently waiting to unwrap our Christmas pajamas and in a matter of seconds, we are comfortable, warm and very cozy. Sometimes the pjs are pretty and sometimes they are just plain funny. It is something everyone looks forward to every year.
