A Letter From The Future

This is me writing you this letter on the last day of 2016. You made some amazing changes in your life this year. You found your happy place and you set up camp there. You remembered that the only thing that can get to you is the decision to let something affect you. You make your own choices now and you have learned that the only thing you can control is your own thoughts. What a difference staying calm and focused has made. You have stepped back and let everyone be more accountable for themselves. You have embraced that the same thing can be done many ways and your way is not the only way. You have spent more time going out at night and enjoying your life rather than sitting home worrying about things you cannot change. You let the small things slip away and you kept your eye on the prize of being present in your own life. You are different now. You are strong, confident and filled with a sense of peace that the strongest winds couldn’t blow away. I knew you could do it with determination and will and you are finally in a place that feels good, a place you want to stay. Welcome. I have been waiting for you to arrive.

They say hindsight is 20/20 so why not give it a try? Set a positive intention for the coming year.

Where Are You?

Drained, like an empty bladder. Every ounce of my body feels tired, worn out. Sometimes when I spill my heart and soul into posts, this is what happens. When I dig down deep and pull up those things that have haunted me for so long, there is a beautiful release. My body and mind go limp and finally my mind gets quiet. It’s so rare that I get these moments of silence. It’s like a silent healing energy wrapping it’s loving arms around me until I fall into its peace. That is where you’ll find me today.

You Write It Wednesday

What is your most admirable quality?

So many times we focus on what is wrong with us instead of what is right with us. Imagine if we could look into a magic mirror that only allowed us to see what is great in is. Does that mean we deny the fact that we are imperfect and full of flaws? Of course not, but it does help us change the way we perceive ourselves into something positive. Love who you are and take pride in your uniqueness. We are all different and we are all beautiful.

Will You Do Your Part?

Start spreading the news. There are so many stories to share. We cannot pretend life is always a beautiful bouquet  of roses, however, don’t we all have a responsibility to make this world a more positive, beautiful place? The way I see it is we have a choice. We can keep sharing, spreading and rehashing the news that causes us to further divide, news that ignites hatred and rage or we can start to spread some good news too, perhaps some news that brings people together for a change. Don’t be a Debbie Downer or a Fighting Freddie. Find a way to spread a positive message once in awhile too. The stories are out there waiting patiently for you to notice. Will you do it?

The Power of Words Award!

I am tickled pink and humbled to announce that Coach Muller from “Good Time Stories” has nominated my blog for such an amazing award. If you haven’t checked out his blog, I assure you, you are missing out. Please drop by and say hello. I know you will love his light hearted, inspiring site as much as I do. https://goodtimestories.wordpress.com/

This new blog award was created by a fellow blogger, “The Idealistic Rebel”

I have designed this award because so many feel they can’t change the world. They can. You can. Your words, your blog can educate, raise awareness, change opinions and raise spirits. Through your blog you are reaching people you may never have effected any other way.

So this is for all who click away on the computer with a heart full of love, kindness, compassion and caring. For all of you who write to correct wrongs and injustices. For all of you who work to bring light into our world and hope to people’s lives. You are all heroes in my book.

Please accept this heart-felt award and pass it on to those in your WordPress family who deserve it. Let’s keep it going for the entire year. May it inspire all with light, words, and love for the human family.

You all know how much I hate rules, so please just

*post the award on your blog*

*thank the person who gave it to you*

*pass it on to those whom you deem worthy*

*let your nominees know*

If you do not accept award, that’s okay. I would still like you to know how much your blogs inspire me.

I would like to nominate three special blogs that are close to my heart. I hope you take the time to check them out. Whenever I need a pick me up, I can find one here in their words.

Dear Human- Letters To Humanity

Mini Cadbury Eggs…YUM!

I like to put my posts on Facebook. It’s an odd platform when you are a blogger, especially if it is your personal Facebook site. Not too many people read the posts there but still there are a few. Most just carry on with their banter and pretend I didn’t just throw myself in the middle of the road, split wide open with my guts exposed. It doesn’t really matter I guess. If people want to really know who I am then great and if they don’t, then that’s okay too. People are superficial. They are rushed, self absorbed. They find silly little games and apps more entertaining than nurturing valuable friendships. Sometimes it’s hard to admit people just don’t care. However, if I post something like “You know those mini hard shelled Cadbury eggs? They’re back!” Then all of a sudden I grab their attention. I want to believe my life has more value to them than a Cadbury egg, but I guess it’s time to face the truth. Cadbury eggs are much more exciting. I think that’s what I’ll call this post, Cadbury eggs and maybe someone will click on it.
