The less you respond to negative people, the more peaceful your life will become~Unknown
My mantra and reminder for today is simple. If someone is a loaded gun, don’t engage. For your own well being and your own safety, do whatever it takes to walk away. You can’t have a war with only one side fighting so wave your white flag and crawl if you must but get out of there as quick as you can. People will taunt and poke to get your attention but the real power lies in the choice to not respond. It certainly isn’t easy but with mindful practice you can live a more peaceful life. Why not start today?
Somebody been doing that to you?

The MORE you respond the more peaceful your life will be? Do you mean the less you respond? I so agree about walking away. We all need to do more of that. I get so anxious when my husband responds to road rage instead of driving away and not engaging. ๐

Thank you! I did mean less. Fixed it! Totally get how you feel about the road rage

Do you mean to choose to walk away as the response?

I agree with you completely. Our lives are so much easier when we are able to walk away from another person’s war without getting entangled in it. This has been my goal for the past year and the outcome has been great!

That gives me hope. I was starting to get the hand of it but took a few steps backward. Back on track!

Not engaging in arguments is a good advice. But sometimes those teenagers fight you with your own weapon. When I tell mine to do something, he chooses not to argue, says “OK” and then simply ignores my request. Sometimes I blow the fuse after 10 reminders. Sometimes I try to collect myself and stand over him until he gets up and does what I ask. In any case, I’m blamed for escalating the situation. Yeah, who else is to blame?

I’m really good at hiding in the bathroom. It’s the only place available for me to hide when I’m being harassed. Members of my family are so negative it’s ridiculous.

My martial arts instructor always told me that if I fight then I have already lost 1/2 the battle, the mental half because I was not smart enough to get myself out of that situation.
